Common questions about the Dawnfire setting, gameplay, and community expectations.
ERP is not the focus of this server, however it does happen. The setting accounts for sex, sexual rituals, and sex cults. It also goes into detail about each culture's view on sex. You will not see ERP happening in the streets or middle of town. But we're all adults here. We know what's going on behind closed doors.
You can try. Orcs and humans don't get along very well. But it's not impossible. There are social stigmas that will have to be overcome. It won't be an easy path for sure, but if that's what you want to try, good luck.
You sure can try. The setting is the Frontier Island. The long arm of the Imperial army is not here. You can try anything you like. However, when you are labeled as a heretic and constantly hunted by other players, that's on you for making the choices you made.
There are no "Good Guys". Everyone can be evil, or good. Orcs can be as harsh and unyielding as they like. Humans can be tyrants and war mongers seeking glory and control. Every race has the potential to be good, or bad. However, the Untethered are the Bad Guys. There is no such thing as a noble/good/honorable Undead. That's not a thing. If you want to try to play a Noble Vampire, you're in the wrong setting. Undead are Monsters in every sense of the word.
No. Every Life Path is available to players. Some take more work than others. Some must be accessed through gameplay. But everything is playable with enough work.
You cannot. Everything is accessible. Patron options are mostly cosmetic. In regards to community service, you can pay to avoid it, but it is not as good as actually doing it. See Patron for more information.
Anyone that is someone would not come to this frontier island to make a name for themselves. Noble families might send their 3rd or 4th son/daughter to try to make their own name. But they arrive with nothing more than their name and what they can do for themselves. No Orc Chief with a clan would come to this place and abandon their lands. In short, once a person has a life path, they would not abandon all they have built to come to a frontier island where society is fragile and new.
Each Life Path is designed to take around 11 Months to complete. Most players that stick around will play on a server for a year or two. They will play a character until that character has finished its story, died, or run out of things to do. Our timeline reflects this by giving players something to earn weekly and monthly through CST and progress.
Giving back to the community that helps support your story is the foundation to a healthy community. This also removes bias from staff approvals.
Kinda. We do not lock things behind staff approval here. If you want to play something, you save your CST, and you buy into your Life Path. Staff can only deny something that is blatantly against the lore, or a concept that is truly out of bounds. Example: You want to play a Goblin that becomes an Anointed of Aureon. That's just not a thing. It is entirely outside the bounds of lore. An application for a Life Path is only there to make sure you don't go off the deep end. So as long as you're willing to play within the scope of the lore, you should be good to go.
